 The practice has gone from strength to strength in recent years and is now expanding their team.

We are seeking a confident small animal locum vet to support a 4 site practice situated on the edge of the Brecon Beacons, to start as soon as possible and continue until the end of August.

The well-equipped clinic employs certificate holders in medicine, surgery and cardiology and all branches offer on-site Abaxis laboratory machines, CR digital radiography and ultrasonography. 
The practice aims to provide a high standard of service, excellent clinical care and a happy, supportive working environment for staff. They have a large, loyal client base with a significant number of insured clients allowing you to provide gold standard care for your patients. The role will be based at the main site which has 24 hour on-site nursing care, and branch cover may be required occasionally depending on staffing.   

The position requires a locum competent in consulting, surgery, dentistry, medicine and some emergency care. 

The successful candidate will enjoy working within a supportive team, display good communication skills and a flexible, committed attitude to small animal first opinion practice.  

All applicants must be eligible to work in the UK, registered as a MRCVS and have a full UK eligible driving license.

Rota:

  • 4 days week - 40 hours.
  • 1:5 Saturdays working with another vet.
  • Ideally 1:5 (negotiable) inpatient only night on-call, however, there is 24 hour on-site RVN cover resulting in minimal call outs.

The role is purely nursing based, roles are designated throughout the week to allow you to concentrate on the nursing duties for that day. You will be the lead nurse in the branch, joining three animal care assistants and a rota’s RVN from our hospital.
We are an accredited RCVS practice and training facility.
The surgery is well equipped with full surgical and diagnostic facilities including, but not limited to; digital x-ray, digital dental x-ray, ultrasound, in-house lab, full surgical equipment for routine and soft tissue surgery.

The role:

  • 40 hours/ week

We are looking for Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a practice in a rural location approximately 15 miles outside of Leeds. 

The position is full time, permanent working a flexible combination of week day, and/or week/weekend night shifts on a rota basis, which can be open to discussion.

The practice offers their own inpatient and OOH service with 14 vets and 17 RVNs plus trainees and support staff over 3 sites. Each site is fully equipped with x-ray, ultrasound, dental and operating facilities. Enhanced facilities are available at the Ilkley surgery, including isolation kennels, laparoscopy and dental x-ray. There are vet certificate holders in medicine, cardiology and surgery, and nurses doing diplomas in anaesthesia, ECC and hydrotherapy.

We are looking for a qualified veterinary nurse ideally with 18 months post graduate experience, however, applications from more recent graduates will be considered. 

You must be hardworking, motivated, enthusiastic and a great team player. Salary is depending on experience and generous allowances are made for nights worked.
