Nottingham based Small Animal Veterinary Hospital requires an OOHs Locum Vet.

The night team work 7 nights on 14 nights off. The first handover day is Monday at 6.30pm from the day hospital Vet. The handover time in the morning is between 8.45am and 9.00am.

In the evening the handover time is 6.30pm Mon-Fri, 5.30pm on a Saturday and 5.45pm on a Sunday.

 The following nights currently require cover:

  • Monday 7th February to Sunday 13th February inclusive
  • Monday 28th February to Sunday 6th March inclusive
  • Monday 21st March to Sunday 27th March inclusive

 The hospital is fully equipped with all the latest equipment, including digital x-ray, ultrasound, Laparoscope, in-house laboratory and much more. In addition, the practice has a very competent nursing team as well as a friendly and experienced reception team to which helps make the practice run as smoothly as possible. The vet team includes certificate holders in Ophthalmology, Surgery, Medicine, Imaging and Dermatology.

Long term locum Vet required for a busy small animal practice in Weymouth, working from May until July 2022. A great location by the beach and a lovely time of year to be there.
You will work weekdays from 9am until 7pm, usually with 3 vets per day in the surgery.
Ideally 1:3 weekends - Saturday 9-5, Sunday 10-4 (sole charge), however, this can be negotiable for the right candidate and part time hours can also be considered. There are no OOHs. You will have a good mix of consults, operating, vaccinations and dentals. 15 minutes consults and regular breaks.

You'll join a team of 5 vets, 5 RVNs, 3 SVNs, a Practice Manager and 3 receptionists.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator and responsible for ensuring high standards of patient and client care are delivered throughout the hospital. You will be instrumental in the development of the hospital and its relationships with local communities and practices, and ensuring the practice is complaint with all regulatory bodies. Strong leadership experience is key as is experience with HR and complaints.

Standard working hours will be an average of 40 hours per week and part time hours will be considered for the right candidate.

Duties will include:

  • Providing management and leadership to both clinical and non-clinical staff including the development and implementation of regular performance reviews and performance management.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a large and friendly team in Essex.  The role is full time working a rota of 4 x 9 hour days and 1:4 full weekends. Both shifts include 1 hour paid break. There are no on-call duties or night shifts.

The large, busy RCVS accredited 24 hour veterinary hospital is equipped with excellent facilities including digital radiography, endoscopy and ultrasonography. This is a first and second opinion practice with a varied caseload.

The hospital has both separate dog and cat wards as well as isolation facilities. The theatre is equipped with the latest multi-parameter machines and equipment to perform both routine and emergency surgery.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a recent or new Graduate Veterinary Surgeon, or a Vet with more experience, to join a first opinion small animal practice in Kent.  Benefiting from 4 consult rooms; a dedicated x-ray and ultrasound room; a large modern theatre and prep room. This is a unique opportunity to join a friendly team and work in a supportive environment that offers the scope for further development in your chosen area of interest.

The role provides a varied consulting caseload that will allow the less experienced to hone their skills and will keep the experienced vet stimulated. Team work is key with knowledge sharing on cases encouraged to ensure good patient outcomes. 

Surgery is on a rotational basis within the team with an interesting mix of soft tissue surgery, imaging and dentistry planned for surgical days - this is supported by a long standing and experienced nursing team. We also have the tools for basic orthopaedics available for suitably experienced candidates. Time is allocated for admin on a daily basis to allow for calls etc. which allows you to concentrate on your patients during consult time without the pressure of needing to squeeze admin in between. 

No Sundays and no after hours. Saturdays are on a rotational 1 in 3 basis. Shifts are a combination of earlies and lates - 5 days per week. We will happily consider the 40 hours worked over 4 days with 3 days off. 

The successful candidate will join a 5 vet team with 6 RVN's and the support of a wonderful reception team and dedicated Practice Principal.
