We have an exciting opportunity for an ambulatory vet to join a 10-vet Equine only practice in Cambridgeshire. Experience preferred, however, an exceptional new graduate would be considered. 
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is confident and friendly with effective communication skills at all levels.
The Practice offers excellent care to a diverse range of equine patients and also provides veterinary services for various racehorse events such racecourse, Point-to-Point and FEI events.

As part of the ambulatory team you will be supported by the entire practice including vets with a broad range of special interests and certificates, qualified equine nurses and a knowledgeable and enthusiastic support team. You will also have the backing of a well-equipped clinic with full surgical facilities and scintigraphy.

There is access to the usual array of mobile equipment (DR, ultrasound, shockwave, gastroscope) and a range of bespoke Apps designed to make your job easier.

A supportive working environment focuses on well-being and trying to get the work / life balance correct. The standard working day starts with hospital rounds at 8.15am and the day finishes at 6.15pm with a 45-minute scheduled lunch break. The duty rota is approximately a 1 in 10 first and a backup rota.

The role offers you potential to expand your professional interests, with funded CPD and development encouraged. Certificate holders, or those studying for a certificate, will be encouraged, however, the right person for our team is more important than experience alone.

We are excited to work with an independent Small Animal Practice in Birmingham with their search for a Veterinary Surgeon to join an existing team of 4 full time and 1 part time vets. An RCVS Accredited Tier 2 Practice Standards Assessed and an RVN Training Practice offering a full range of routine surgical and diagnostic procedures, including dental radiography and surgical dentistry, digital radiography, ultrasound and laser therapy. They also have a visiting orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeon for more involved procedures. 

Full time vets work 4 days a week and 1 in 4/5 Saturdays. 

The team consists of 7 RVNs, 3 SVNs as well as Reception and Domestic Staff to support the Practice. 

The ideal candidate will work full time, 4 days per week with 1 in 4/5 Saturdays. There are no OOHs, however, they do maintain the care of  in patients. 

You will be a veterinary surgeon with good communication and operating skills, however, flexibility for part time hours can be considered for the right candidate.

An additional team member with a surgical or medicine bias, or someone who simply enjoys being a GP Vet will be welcomed and as there are 4 very experienced Veterinary Surgeons currently employed, a less experienced colleague can be supported and developed.

To start as soon as possible and continue on an on-going basis, however, any availability will be considered.
Full time hours are based on 8 hour shifts, Monday - Friday with 1:3 Saturdays (9am-3pm) and time given in lieu of a Saturday worked.
There is no OOH responsibility with this role.
